Latest Updates from Our Project:

Ships have set sail!
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Jun 09, 2020 at 03:15:14 AM

As promised in the last update, we have new information on the shipment of Britannia to share with you.

  • The ship headed for the US left China yesterday and will be at sea for about a month.
  • The ship headed for the UK left China a week ago and will be at sea for about six weeks.

Both shipments will then need to clear customs and get booked into the warehouse (at least two weeks) before fulfilment can begin.

That gives you a sense of the current timeline. We will post another update when the ships have reached port.

Shipping Update
almost 4 years ago – Sat, May 30, 2020 at 02:27:34 AM

Hello all. I know we have been quiet recently and some of you have been requesting updates on shipping of the game. We had planned to hold off on an update until ships were ready to leave port with Britannia, but in the interest of getting some information out to you, here is our current status.

All games, in every edition, have been produced, and are now awaiting shipment.

As you can imagine, the global pandemic is causing logistical hurdles when it comes to shipping goods out of China. Understandably, personal protective equipment and medical supplies are given a priority, and so space for consumer goods is limited, in high demand, and prices are skyrocketing. We have been working with our logistics partners to get the games on two ships: one bound or the United States, and the other to the United Kingdom.

We will update you again once the ships have left port with the games. Realistically, once the ships leave port in China we are anticipating at least another 4 weeks to reach the US and 6 weeks to reach the UK. Once the games clear customs (which is taking longer than normal) and reach our warehouses we will distribute them to you just as quickly as we can.

We will adjust these estimates if necessary when we update you when the ships have left. We have not locked addresses in the Backerkit pledge manager, so if you have a move coming up, you’ll be able to update your address on your own (send us a message if you need help with this). We will alert you before we lock addresses in the pledge manager.

In the interest of transparency, some of you will note that this update is the same for another of our Kickstarter projects – Rome & Roll. Both games (along with a reprint of Blitzkrieg!) are booked for passage in the same containers. We had not planned for the fulfilment of both games to happen at the same time, nor did one game cause a delay in shipping the other. Given COVID-19 related delays in production, it meant both games were ready for shipping within the same timeframe.

Thank you again for your patience. We will be back again with an update when the ships have left China.

Quick update for April
about 4 years ago – Thu, Apr 16, 2020 at 04:28:25 AM

We hope this update finds you all safe and well. We have just a short update for you today.

The good news is that the games are all complete and packed. We’re now organizing shipping.

As you can imagine, with factories re-opening in China, there’s a backlog of goods (of all kinds, not just our lovely board games) leaving the country.

It is premature to set a new timeframe at this point, but we will be able to update you again once we have a ship booked.

Update on production in China
about 4 years ago – Wed, Feb 19, 2020 at 03:42:20 PM

Today we can share two pieces of news with you regarding the production of Britannia following the coronavirus global health emergency.

We have been in regular contact with our manufacturing partner since the initial shutdown over Chinese New Year and the extended close due to the virus. As you can appreciate, the situation there is affecting all aspects of life and not just manufacturing.

What we can tell you today is that the factory has now re-opened, and PSC Games’ projects (namely Rome & Roll & Britannia) are at the front of the queue for production.

What does that mean for the Britannia timeline overall?

Based on the information we currently have, we are expecting a delay in production by about two weeks, with production now finishing in early April. This may mean that backers receive their games slightly later than the original timeframe of May. We will continue to work with the manufacturer to minimize delays and we will keep you updated with relevant new information as we receive it.

Production samples are in
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jan 21, 2020 at 12:55:37 AM

Hello Britannia backers!

We’re in full swing here now readying the game for production. Things are still on schedule and the game’s designer, Lew Pulsipher, is currently looking over the rulebook for final review.

We recently received component samples of the box and its contents. This gives us a chance to inspect the sizing and materials of the board, rulebook, player aids, etc. These are all plain white, unprinted pieces, sized to their final production specs. We’re very happy with the materials and don’t require any changes.

These printed pieces rest in a notched plastic insert, with lots of room for the miniatures, dice, and game markers in the compartments beneath them. We may tinker with this a bit further, but rest assured that everything fits securely.

We also received production samples of the miniatures. While these are all in grey, final components will be in red, blue, purple, and black (actually a very dark grey, which shows the detailing much better than pure black). The poses on these playing pieces look great and we hope that you’ll agree. We took some quick photos for you in a lightbox. While by no means perfect, this should give you a sense of what’s coming your way this spring!

Now on to the minis!

Until next time!
